Candle Care

A few simple gestures to make the most of your candle and your diffuser.

How to use your candles

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Each candle is hand-poured with olive wax, a 10% Grasse fragrance and a cotton TCR wick. A few simple gestures will guarantee a clean, even burn and a fragrance that reveals itself fully with every light.

On the first burn

On the very first burn, let the candle burn until the entire surface has melted from edge to edge, with no solid wax left on the sides. This usually takes 2 to 3 hours for the 200 ml size, and 3 to 4 hours for the 300 ml size.

This step is essential: it prevents tunnelling, a phenomenon to which vegetable waxes such as olive wax are particularly sensitive, and which would stop the candle from burning to the edge afterwards.

At every light

  • Trim the wick to about 5 mm before lighting, for a steady, smokeless flame.
  • Remove any bits of wick or charred cotton that may have fallen into the wax.
  • Never burn the candle for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. Let it cool completely before relighting.
  • Place it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts that make the flame flicker and the wick smoke.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Burn time

Under normal conditions of use (no draught, sessions of 3 to 4 hours maximum), allow approximately:

  • Amber vessel (200 ml): 35 to 40 hours
  • Clear vessel (300 ml): 50 to 55 hours

These times are indicative: they may vary with room temperature and how well the initial melt time was respected.

When the candle comes to an end

Stop burning the candle when about 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Beyond that, the glass heats excessively and the flame may damage the bottom of the container.

Once cleaned, the glass vessel is perfect for storing small objects.

Keep your candles away from direct light and heat. The amber vessel of the 200 ml size offers natural UV protection, while the clear glass of the 300 ml size exposes the wax more to light: avoid leaving it in full sun to preserve the colour and the fragrance over time.

About the fragrance

Our scents are made from Grasse fragrances, dosed at 10%. The cold throw is already noticeable as soon as the candle is opened. The warm throw, more generous, develops fully after the first complete melt cycle described above.

Safety measures

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Never leave the candle burning unattended.
  • Do not ingest or swallow.
  • Never touch or move the candle while it is lit.
  • Never let the flame touch the edge of the vessel.
  • Do not extinguish the candle with water or any other product.
  • Place your candle on a flat surface, away from any flammable object (curtains, wood, paper, etc.).

How to use your diffusers

  1. Place the glass bottle flat on a stable surface.
  2. Unscrew the wooden cap.
  3. To release the protective plastic seal easily and without splashing, slide the tip of a flat object under its edge. Gently lift one side to let the air in — the cap will come off smoothly.
  4. Screw the wooden cap back on firmly. Then turn the bottle upside down for 3 to 5 seconds so the scent can soak into the material.
  5. Hang your diffuser from your rear-view mirror, in a wardrobe, or in any room of your choice.
  6. Over the days, repeat the tipping motion for 2 seconds to revive the fragrance.
