Tips for Using Your Candles

Each candle is hand-poured using olive wax, 10% fragrance from Grasse, and a TCR cotton wick. These few simple steps will ensure a clean, even burn and a fragrance that fully unfolds with every lighting.

The first time you use it

The first time you use the candle, let it burn until the entire surface has melted from one edge to the other, with no solid wax remaining on the sides. Generally, allow 2 to 3 hours for the 200 ml size and 3 to 4 hours for the 300 ml size. This step is essential: it prevents the “tunnel effect,” a phenomenon to which plant-based waxes like olive wax are particularly prone, which would otherwise prevent the candle from burning all the way to the edge in the future.

Every time it is turned on

  • Trim the wick to about 5 mm before lighting to ensure an even, smoke-free flame.

  • Remove any wick or charred cotton residue that may have fallen into the wax.

  • Never let the candle burn for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. Let it cool completely before relighting it.

  • Place it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts that cause the flame to flicker and the wick to smoke.

  • Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Burning time

Under normal conditions of use (in a draft-free room, for sessions lasting no more than 3 to 4 hours), expect approximately:

  • for the amber container: 35 to 40 hours

  • for the clear container: 50 to 55 hours

These times are provided for general guidance only: they may vary slightly depending on the ambient temperature and whether the initial melting time described above is followed.

End of the candle's life

Stop burning the candle when there is about 1 cm of wax left at the bottom of the container. If you let it burn any longer, the glass will get too hot and the flame may damage the bottom of the container. Once cleaned, the glass container can be reused to store small items.

Preservation

Store your candles away from direct light and heat. The amber container of the 200-ml size provides natural protection against UV rays, while the clear glass of the 300-ml size exposes the wax to more light: avoid leaving it in direct sunlight to preserve the color and longevity of the fragrance over time.

About the Fragrance

Our scents are crafted using fragrances from Grasse, blended at a concentration of 10%. The cold diffusion is noticeable as soon as the product is opened. The warm diffusion, which is more intense, develops fully after the first complete melting cycle described above.

Security Measures

  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Never leave a lit candle unattended.

  • Do not ingest or swallow.

  • Never touch or move the candle while it is lit.

  • Never let the flame touch the edge of the container.

  • Do not extinguish the candle with water or any other substance.

  • Place your candle on a flat surface away from any flammable objects (curtains, wood, paper, etc.)
